Low-density polyethylene
Low-density polyethylene, or LDPE, was the first category of polyethylene to be produced in 1933 by Imperial Chemical Industries using a high-pressure process of free-radical polymerisation, a method that is still used today.
- LDPE is composed of carbon and hydrogen
- Non-toxic
- Flexible
- Light
- Transparent
- Inert (to contents)
- Impermeable
- Low dimensional stability, but easy processing
- LDPE offers high performance in all extrusion and injection technologies
- Plastic bags
- Stretch film
- Bottles, cosmetics
